Baking soda is a natural exfoliant that removes dead skin cells to reveal younger cells underneath. Exfoliating is one method for minimizing the appearance of stretch marks, which are areas of damaged skin caused by weight gain. You can easily mix an exfoliant with baking soda at home for the treatment of stretch marks.
Squeeze a teaspoon of body wash onto your washcloth next time you are in the shower. Pour the teaspoon of baking soda into the washcloth as well.
Fold the washcloth in and massage the baking soda and body wash together until they are mixed thoroughly.
Step out of the shower's spray and gently scrub your stretch marks with the body wash and baking soda in a circular motion. The hard particles of baking soda will exfoliate the area while the body wash moisturizes and cleans the new skin.
Rinse off the mixture. Repeat the process two to three times per week.
