Oatmeal with milk and honey is not only a delicious, healthy breakfast. These ingredients combine to make a nourishing lotion for the skin, with the moisturizing properties of milk, the brightening and softening properties of oatmeal and the healing and antioxidant content of honey. Oatmeal, milk and honey lotion is made using all-natural products—this means a relatively short shelf-life. Keep excess in the refrigerator, or give it to friends and family to avoid waste.

Soak the oatmeal in 1/2 cup of water overnight. Blend in the food processor until smooth.

Heat the milk and 1/2 cup water in a pot, until just boiling. Remove from stove and set to one side.

Melt the shea butter, wax and honey in the other pot with the almond oil until fully dissolved, stirring continuously. Do not let the mixture reach a boil.

Stir the water and milk mixture, pouring in the melted oil mixture slowly, stirring constantly until the two mixtures are combined. Add the citric acid.

Pour the combined mixtures into the food processor with the smooth oatmeal and blend, pulsing the food processor for two minutes. The lotion will begin to thicken and become creamy. The mixture will become three times as thick once it is cooled, so stop blending before it gets too thick.

Pour the mixture into the lotion container using the funnel. Store the bottles in the refrigerator for a minimum of eight hours, overnight is best.


  • Olive oil, jojoba oil and vitamin E oil are all suitable substitutes for almond oil.

  • Add three or four drops of fragrance oil to the oil mixture for scented lotion.
