To create a spa-like treatment for your face, make a homemade moisturizer. For extremely dry and sensitive skin, you can whip up a natural skin cream to smooth and soften skin without petroleum and mineral oil. There’s no need to spend a lot of money on a moisturizer–you can create a gentle and rich moisturizer that is inexpensive and effective.
Things You'll Need
Combine 1 cup of liquid avocado or almond oil and ½ cup of beeswax in a small pot over medium heat. Stir with a wooden spoon until melted.
Remove from heat. Whisk until cool.
Add the contents of three capsules of Vitamin E into the pot. Add fragrant oils like rose, sandalwood or lavender into the mixture. Stir until all ingredients are combined.
Transfer the mixture to a sterile glass or plastic jar. Shake vigorously for 5 to 10 seconds to combine.
Store the moisturizer in a dark, cool place for a maximum of 30 days. Refrigerate unused portions for an additional 15 to 20 days.
Use a circular, upward motion to lightly massage the moisturizer into the face.
The best time to apply moisturizer is right after a shower or bath, when the skin is damp. The moisturizer helps to seal in the moisture.
Store all aromatic and liquid oils in the refrigerator after initial use.
