Keeping dreadlocked hair in healthy maintenance can be tough work. Using a recipe of natural essential oils and soaps will clean the scalp of debris, dead skin cells and oils, while not stripping the scalp of its natural oils. Most commercial shampoos strips the necessary oils of the scalp. The body overcompensates by creating more oil on the scalp. This homemade shampoo can be used every day or a few times a week depending on your hair type.
Things You'll Need
Combine all of the ingredients in a glass mixing bowl. A glass mixing bowl will not absorb the scent of the essential oils.
Pour the mixture into a spray bottle.
Spray the dreadlock shampoo onto the hair in the shower and leave on for one to three minutes before rinsing.
Add more or less of the ingredients to suit your particular tastes.
