Dry, cracked feet can be both painful and unattractive. If you have cracked feet, the skin there is severely dry. In some cases, dry, cracked feet may even bleed. Cracks are most commonly present in between the toes and around the heel on dry feet. You must take steps to restore moisture to your feet in order to correct the symptoms. There is a range of methods you can employ to do so. With a bit of dedication and care, you can effectively cure dry, cracked feet.

Rub Shea or cocoa butter onto your feet. These natural butters are deeply hydrating, helping to eliminate dry, cracked skin on your feet. You can find both butters in most natural and drug stores.

Puncture vitamin E capsules and distribute the contents onto your feet. Vitamin E is essential to skin health and can repair dry, cracked skin.

Apply foot cream or lotion to your feet. These products are available in most drug stores. They often contain paraffin which protects the skin from damage and keeps moisture in the it.

Exfoliate your feet. Extremely dry patches of skin on your feet can be removed via exfoliation. Use a body scrub, loofah or pumice stone to remove this dead skin. For best results, soak your feet in warm water for five to 10 minutes before exfoliating them as doing so will soften the skin.

Cover your feet in petroleum jelly. Put on a pair of clean, white socks and let the petroleum jelly work on your feet for several hours. It will soften your dry, cracked skin, helping to repair it.

Wear comfortable, supportive shoes daily. Shoes that fit poorly or irritate your feet put undo pressure on certain areas, often leading to dry, cracked skin.


Drink plenty of water to keep skin hydrated.


Do not use products on your feet that contain alcohol. They will dry out the skin.
