Sea salt is not just for cooking. When added to your bath, sea salt provides a whole host of nutrients and minerals for your body that are absorbed through the skin. By adding some sea salts to your bath, you reap all of the benefits of a spa treatment for a fraction of the cost. These benefits include increased circulation, increased absorption of vitamins and minerals and exfoliation, invigoration and detoxification of the skin.
Fill up your bathtub with warm water at a comfortable temperature prior to immersing yourself in the water.
Exfoliate prior to bathing. Brush a washcloth or loofah over your skin very gently to get rid of any dead skin cells.
Pour anywhere from 1/4 to 1 cup of sea salts into your bath while the water is still running to make sure the salt is absorbed into the bath water.
Place your sea salts somewhere within reach, such as on the edge of the tub, or on the floor beside the tub so that you can reach them once you get into the water.
Climb into the tub and once you get settled, take the sea salts and pour some into your hand. Gently massage the sea salts all over your skin and then soak for as long as you desire.
