How to Use Argan

By Michael Batton Kaput

When it comes to beauty products, nature often provides products that put man-made ones to shame. Argan oil, derived from the nuts of the argan tree, is a natural product that provides beauty and anti-aging cosmetic benefits. Raw argan oil can be applied to most parts of your body to keep nails, hair and skin healthy, while providing them with extra sheen.

Step 1

Buy raw argan oil, not culinary argan oil (see Resources). Raw argan oil contains unroasted argan nuts, which retain their vitamins and fatty acids.

Step 2

Store argan oil in an opaque, ultaviolet-protected bottle to preserve its vitamins and minerals for as long as possible.

Step 3

Apply a few drops of argan oil to your palms and massage your face in small circles until the entire surface is covered in the oil.

Step 4

Mix equal parts argan oil and lemon juice in a small receptacle. Soak your nails in the solution for 10 minutes to strengthen them and give them extra shine.

Step 5

Apply argan oil to your hair, beginning with the ends. Wrap your hair in a towel when it is completely coated in oil. Leave the towel in place for half an hour or even overnight, if you prefer.

Step 6

Massage your skin with argan oil after a shower. Mix with body lotion if desired or apply raw directly to the skin.
