At only 45 calories a fruit, kiwis are a great low-calorie food.
Place unripe kiwis in a paper bag with an apple, pear or banana at room temperature for a few days. These fruits give off ethylene gas, which causes ripening.
Keep either ripe or unripe kiwis in the refrigerator for storae or more gradual ripening. Refrigerate for no longer than 1-2 weeks.
The fruit can be eaten whole if you rub off the fuzz, or cut open and eaten with a spoon.
Slice kiwis for fruit or green salads, or use as an appealing garnish.
Keep kiwis away from other fruits, which will cause the kiwis to overripen quickly.
