Smoked chicken is a delicious and relatively easy-to-make meal. A smoker is necessary, however aside from the smoker, not many additional materials are needed. Although it is not common to smoke frozen chicken, it is possible to thaw frozen chicken and then smoke it.
Defrosting the Chicken
Set frozen chicken on a plate and wait till it is completely thawed.
Mix water, noniodized salt and sugar in a bowl.
Marinate chicken in water, noniodized salt and sugar mixture for four hours
Preheat smoker to 275 degrees Fahrenheit.
Add smoke wood.
Rub chicken with the desired dry seasoning
Place chicken in the smoker.
Place a drip pan under the chicken
Smoke chicken for one and a half to three hours, or until the temperature of the breast reads 160 degrees Fahrenheit and the thigh reads 170 degrees Fahrenheit.
Remove chicken from smoker and let sit for 20 minutes.
