Roasted peanuts

Raw peanuts are often referred to as green peanuts. They are peanuts that have not yet been removed from their shells. Peanuts make an excellent snack because they are rich in protein, vitamin E, and resveratrol, which is an antioxidant. Peanuts can be boiled or roasted. One way to roast your raw peanuts is to take advantage of the convenience of a microwave oven.

Remove the shells from your peanuts. If you cannot do this with your hands, use a nut cracker.

Place the shelled peanuts in a glass container. If you do not have one that is glass, just use a microwave safe container.

Cut a tbsp. of butter in to small slivers and toss them on top of the peanuts.

Place the peanuts in the microwave on high for two minutes.

Remove the peanuts from the microwave and stir them. Return them to the microwave for another two minutes.

Continue microwaving the peanuts and stirring them every two minutes. The peanuts are slightly roasted after ten minutes. Microwave for a total of 12 minutes for a medium roast, and 14 minutes for a dark roast.

  • To cook your peanuts faster you can heat up some peanut oil in a frying pan. Add the peanuts and cook for a total of five minutes.
