Apply mango butter after a warm shower or a good workout, and the warmth will help the butter to penetrate your skin, leaving it smooth and soft, with a light fragrance. You'll love using it so much, you'll want to make an extra batch to share with friends.

Measure the cocoa butter, shea butter, mango butter, wheat germ oil, apricot kernel oil, vitamin E and beeswax in a small microwave safe bowl.

Melt the mixture on high for 1 minute at a time until the ingredients have melted. With the microwave on low setting, heat it for 2 to 3 more minutes, but don't allow it to boil.

Remove the bowl from the microwave and stir until the ingredients are thoroughly blended.

Let the mango butter cool for several hours, and then stir it again.

Add the essential oil before the mango butter has a chance to completely set up, and stir it to blend the scent.

Spoon the mango body butter into the jars or tins, and store it in a dark, cool place, or in the refrigerator.

  • This mango body butter recipe is very firm. If you prefer a thinner mango butter, decrease the amount of beeswax slightly.

  • You can use any essential oil fragrance that you like. Just substitute it for the mango essential oil, or experiment and use both.
