When strawberries come into season, it's time for making all the delectable fresh strawberry desserts you've waited for all year. There's strawberry shortcake, strawberries and cream, strawberry ice cream and the glazed strawberry pie. Made with a pre-cooked crust and a simple glaze that surrounds the fresh fruit, strawberry pie is even more convenient when the smoothness of the filling is enhanced with strawberry-flavored Jell-O.

Place 1 cup of sugar, 2 tablespoons of cornstarch and 1 cup of water in the saucepan. This makes enough thickener for one pie using one 3-ounch package of gelatin.

Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring with a spoon until thickened. Take it off the heat.

Stir a 3-ounce package of strawberry Jell-O powder into the mixture until it dissolves and then let the mixture cool slightly before you pour it over your completed strawberry pie.

Refrigerate the strawberry pie until it is chilled and the pie filling is firmly set.
