When making a banana pudding, instant vanilla pudding makes an excellent base. This delicious dessert is ideal for celebrations or just an after-dinner snack. Mix the condensed milk and water in a large mixing bowl. Add the pudding mix and beat for several minutes. Refrigerate the pudding mixture for 15 minutes.
Whip the heavy cream until stiff. Fold the whipped cream into the chilled pudding mixture until it is thoroughly combined.
Layer 1/2 cup of pudding around the bottom of a large glass bowl. Top with 1/3 of the vanilla wafers followed by 1/3 of the bananas, and 1/3 of the remaining pudding.
Repeat the layering pattern twice, finishing with the pudding mixture on top. Sprinkle with crushed vanilla wafer crumbs. Chill at least four hours before serving.
