Preteen girls are under tremendous pressure when it comes to their appearance. According to the "Herald Sun," spa treatments start for many Australian girls as early as fourth or fifth grade. Professional spas put a lot of pressure on young girls to meet media ideals of external beauty. Instead of visiting a spa, plan a spa evening at home with a little girl in your life. Use the opportunity to teach her to accept and care for herself. It’s easy to create a full spa night for one girl or even a birthday slumber party. Combine the face masks with activities such as mixing bath salts and other beauty treatments.
Mix unflavored gelatin and milk in a small microwave-safe container.
Microwave the mixture for 10 seconds to warm.
Paint the mixture on the T-zone of the face: over the bridge of the nose and the forehead. Allow the mask to dry for 10 to 15 minutes until stiff.
Peel the mask from your skin.
Oily Face Mask
Peel and grate an apple.
Warm 5 tablespoons of honey in the microwave for 30 seconds on half power.
Mix the apple with the warm honey.
Apply the mixture to a clean face. Leave the mixture on the face for 10 minutes.
Wash the face with warm water and pat dry.
Use the peel-off mask before using the oily skin mask. This allows the honey and apple to deeply clean the newly opened pores.
While these are all natural ingredients, watch for allergic reactions.
