Our feet take a lot of wear and tear from carrying our weight around day in and day out. If you are looking for a way to pamper yourself and your feet, but don’t want to spend the big bucks, you can make your own foot spa treatment right at home.
Things You'll Need
Prepare a sea salt foot scrub for your foot spa treatment by combining 2 cups of fine grain sea salts and 1/2 cup of sweet almond oil in a plastic bowl. Add 10 drops of lemon essential oil and stir thoroughly.
Pour 1/2 gallon of whole milk into a large sauce pan and add a heaping handful of dried lavender, either dried or fresh. Heat on the lowest setting for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. After about 15 minutes, pour the milk, herbs and all, into a plastic tub that is large enough for both feet.
Add a bag of marbles to the milk bath and sink your feet into your healing foot spa. Play with the marbles with your toes, exercising and massaging your feet, and soak for 15 or 20 minutes.
Remove a foot from the tub and pat dry. Apply a bit of your sea salt foot scrub to your feet and massage into calluses or dry spots, around the nails and between the toes. Work directly over the tub so that excess salt can fall into the tub. When ready, swap feet and then dip both feet into the milk bath to remove the salt scrub.
Pat your feet dry and take this opportunity to trim your toenails, push back cuticles. scrape away calluses and give yourself the full spa treatment. Finish by applying a heavy foot cream and covering your feet with thick socks.
