Preventing pimples is the best defense against acne.
However, if you do have a pimple flare, there are a few tricks you can try to accelerate the time a pimple lingers on your face.
Things You'll Need
Drying out a pimple is an effective way to get rid of a pimple.
One way to accomplish that is applying a dab of white, paste-based toothpaste (not gel) to dry out the pimple overnight. Take care to avoid areas around your eye and remove immediately if you experience redness or burning.
Wash your face with facial cleanser and pat dry to remove the toothpaste in the morning.
Other methods to dry out a pimple include:
Dab the area with a fresh lemon juice applied to a cotton ball before going to bed.
Apply a dab of lavender essential oil (using a cotton ball or cotton swab) to the pimple before going to bed.
Mix a few drops of honey and a pinch of cinnamon into a paste.
After washing and patting dry your face, apply the mixture to the infected areas before going to bed. Protect your pillow from being stained or soiled by the mixture with a towel.
Wash your face thoroughly in the morning.
Separate the white of an egg from the yolk and apply the egg white to the pimple. Allow to remain on your face for 15 to 20 minutes and then wash with facial cleanser and warm water.
Do not squeeze a pimple as that can aggravate your skin and the pimple.
If pimples persist or worsen, consult your primary care physician or a dermatologist.
