Blood vessels that transfer the system’s blood away from the heart are classified as arteries. There are two specific types of arteries: the pulmonary artery and the systemic artery. Pulmonary arteries transport blood from the heart to the lungs, obtaining oxygen along the journey, and then return the blood containing oxygen back to the heart. Systemic arteries supply blood throughout the rest of the body. When the arteries become narrow and clogged due to fat cells being deposited inside the artery walls, a condition known as arthrosclerosis occurs. Arthrosclerosis is the hardening of the arteries, which disables the arteries to supply necessary oxygen and blood to the body’s vital organs. The condition can be fatal, depending on the severity of the clogged artery, and may require surgery. Cleansing the arteries can lower the risk of developing arthrosclerosis, and can be done using a common household substance, apple cider vinegar.
