How to Bake Asparagus in the Oven

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees and set aside a baking sheet.

Prep the asparagus. Remove the rubber band holding the asparagus together and rinse in the sink. Cut about 1 inch off the bottom of each asparagus stalk with a sharp knife and discard.

Season the asparagus. Put the asparagus in a container or plastic bag and pour a few tablespoons of olive oil in. Squeeze in the juice of half a lemon. Add salt and pepper to taste. Toss or shake to coat evenly.

Spread the seasoned asparagus on a baking sheet. Place in the oven and bake for 15 to 20 minutes. Baking time may be slightly longer for larger asparagus stalks.

Remove from the oven and serve. For best results, top with grated Parmesan cheese and garnish with more lemon juice. Add a fried egg (sunny side up) to make it a hearty, low-carb meal. Enjoy!
