The benefits of receiving a sensuous massage include decreased stress and anxiety, the relief of aching joints, and pain and tension held in areas of muscle throughout the body. Sensual massage can also increase intimacy and trust between partners. There are a number of different sensual massage techniques to use for a full-body massage.

Swedish Massage

Swedish massage technique is the most common form of massage technique in the U.S.

According to E Massage Tips, the Swedish massage technique is the most common form of massage in the United States. This is the most sensual massage technique as it uses gentle hand motions, such as kneading and squeezing movements, or petrissage, and effleurage or sweeping strokes that cover more than one area of the body at a time to soothe the muscles. The massage ends with traction, which involves the newly loosened limbs being gently pulled.

This sensual massage is used by couples to increase intimacy and partner satisfaction. To perform a sensual massage on your partner, begin by stroking his or her skin gently with the fingertips, moving from the back to other areas such as the shoulders, arms, thighs, buttocks and calves. This massage also consists of long strokes over the body using the whole hand, followed by shorter strokes that use slight pressure.

Sports Massage

These massage techniques are similar to those of the Swedish massage, as it too uses hand movements such as petrissage and effleurage. This technique uses more pressure to massage the muscles. This can help to prepare the body for doing sports and generally being active as the techniques aid in warming the muscles and increasing circulation. That being said, this massage can also be used to increase relaxation and alleviate stress and tension.
