Ringworm is a contagious fungal infection of the skin that develops on the epidermis, the top layer of the skin. Symptoms of ringworm include red rashes, raised rings of skin and flat patches of itchy skin. Treatment for the disease is usually antifungal medication. However, according to Brian Salt, author of "Hidden Secrets to Curing Ringworm: The Definitive Guide," you can use an alternative treatment of garlic paste to relieve the symptoms of ringworm. Garlic has an antifungal property called ajoene that may be effective in treating a variety of fungal infections of the skin. Always consult your doctor before using any alternative treatment.

Prepare the mixture by pressing one glove of garlic using a pestle and mortar. Add 3 ounces of olive oil and 3 ounces of honey to the garlic and blend well.

Apply the paste directly to the infected skin on your body with your fingers. Massage the paste in and leave it there for at least one hour.

Wash off the paste with warm water after one hour. You may apply the paste up to three times a day to help relieve the symptoms of ringworm.
