On April 15th, at 6:57pm PST, the energizing effects of the New Moon in Aries will be in full effect.
What is a New Moon?
A New Moon occurs when the Moon and the Sun share the same path and the Moon is casted in shadow, it’s face hidden from view. This creates a dark sky and is the commencement of a new lunar cycle.
What does the New Moon represent?
The New Moon is the first phase in the Lunar Cycle. As this phase ushers in a new path for the moon, it also ushers in fresh energy for us to work through challenges old and new.
How can I work with the New Moon?
Acknowledging and honoring the darkness of the Moon as a time to clear out and re-asses better equips us to accept new opportunities with open arms. When we can acknowledge what needs to be changed or emptied we can refill according to what makes us feel whole, our decisions then can become products of deep self-awareness instead of anxiety or fear.
What can this particular Aries New Moon offer me?
This New Moon in Aries has everything and more to offer us. Not only does this event signify the beginning of the new Lunar cycle (as in brand new, as Aries is the first sign of the zodiac), but it also marks the end of the Mercury retrograde we have been experiencing since March. Plus_,_ it’s the first New Moon of Spring, and, much like the New Moon in Capricorn back in January, this New Moon can offer you a fresh start in the form of your own personal New Year if you need it.
As a cardinal fire sign and the first sign in the zodiac, Aries energy represents the childlike drive to interact with and explore anything and everything we find passion for.
And, much like curious and determined children, Aries energy can lead us to bump our heads on tables and trip on our shoelaces as we sprint towards our goals with tunnel vision and reckless abandon. This raw power, drive and passionate instinct to act first and think later is the Aries signature, and all of these incredible qualities that reside in all of us in different capacities will, most likely, push themselves to the forefront at this time. The most important thing you can do to harness the energy of this Aries moon is to guide it with a productive plan, especially now that Mercury is getting back on board to help support.
Aries energy needs leadership; something to focus on and fight for that has meaning and direction. This Aries moon, ask yourself where you would like to take on more of a leadership role in your life.
Aries season provides the fuel, but it is you who has to learn how to tame and direct the flame. Look back to the fantasies you conjured on last month’s New Moon in Pisces; in what ways have you committed to those dreams and given them legs to stand on? What do your hopes and dreams tell you about the type of leader you are or want to be? What does your own personal brand of leadership look like? Use this New Moon to get really clear about not only how you want to move forward but why and for whom. This will help you make a new lane that is just for you, clearing any initial obstacles of fear and self-doubt and instead feeding your purpose and power further. Once you are ready, willing and clear on how, why and when you will step up to the plate, however that may look like in your life, you will have all of the power and tenacity of the ram behind you.
