Hydrogen peroxide 35 percent is referred to as food grade hydrogen peroxide. It contains two atoms of hydrogen and two atoms of oxygen, making a compound much like water (H2O) but with an extra oxygen molecule (H2O2). Food grade hydrogen peroxide combined with water and taken orally is used as a natural antibiotic to fight off infections caused by bacteria and viruses. Hydrogen peroxide 35 percent is also used to disinfect standing water like pools and spas and to nourish plants.
Mix food grade hydrogen peroxide with water and take it on an empty stomach to fight off bacterial infections as well as cold and flu viruses. Standard daily treatment is 3 drops of H2O2 in an 8 oz. glass of distilled water.
Be aware that too much H2O2 can cause gastronomical and neurological problems, so always consult with a health care professional to assure you are getting the proper dosage. H2O2 solutions are also used as a mouthwash and applied externally as skin care treatment for acne and rashes.
A solution of 35 percent hydrogen peroxide is sometimes added to swimming pools, spas, fountains and ponds to suppress the bacteria that creates mold and mildew. Regardless of the concentration, it is not harmful to humans or animals immersed in the water. Food grade hydrogen peroxide will not react adversely to regular pool chemicals and is added without changing the water.
Proper concentrations of H202 added to animal water supplies serve as a natural antibiotic and are used by ranchers who raise antibiotic-free livestock. Also add a drop of food grade hydrogen peroxide to pet water dishes to help prevent infectious disease and parasites.
H2O2 helps plants grow healthy; add it to the watering can and use it as a fertilizer. Food grade hydrogen peroxide is added to a spray water bottle and sprayed on the leaves to discourage plant diseases.
In the garden, spray it directly on the soil to prevent root rot and on seeds ready to plant to encourage them to germinate. Also apply a solution of H2O2 and water to trees with branches cut off to prevent future infection, and use it in hydroponic gardening.
