Simple Spiced Rum Drinks

By Jordan Whitehouse

Spiced rums typically get their quintessential spiciness from some combination of gingerroot; vanilla and allspice seeds; cinnamon and cassia bark; or clove. Although the result can be quite pungent, all that flavor is the perfect accompaniment to cocktails with sweet additions like fruit juices, berries and even simple syrups. There's no need to go overboard on the ingredients when making a spiced rum drink, though. Two or three additions are all you need to create a cocktail that'll pack a serious flavor punch.
