Hyperpigmentation can occur any place on the body that is exposed to the sun or is healing from injury. While the small brown spots caused by hyperpigmentation aren’t dangerous, they can be distracting when the spots are on your face. In addition to over-the-counter treatments, there also are natural treatments available that can fade the spots caused by hyperpigmentation.

Aloe Vera

Using aloe vera cream or gel on the face twice a day will help to lighten dark spots over time.

Coco Butter

Applying coco butter to dark sports on the face will help the spots fade faster. It also will help moisturize the skin.

Apple Cider Vinegar and Onion Juice

Mix one part apple cider vinegar with one part onion juice. Apply the mixture to a cotton swab and gently apply to the dark spots.

Side Effects

Avoid using treatments all over the face. This can cause uneven skin tone in some people.

Avoid using treatments near the eyes. If treatment causes skin irritation, stop use immediately.
