Nutella is a creamy chocolate and hazelnut spread that is made with skim milk and cocoa. It was created by Pietro Ferrero in the 1940s in Italy. Nutella became very popular in Italy, and in the 1980s it was imported to the Northeastern part of the United States. Nutella is now all over the country and can be eaten for breakfast, lunch and dessert.

Make a Nutella and fruit bagel sandwich. Toast your sliced bagel and spread the Nutella on both sides. Place sliced fruits such as pineapples and strawberries on one side of the bagel, then place the other bagel slice on top. This is a good breakfast treat.

Use Nutella in your morning coffee. In the bottom of your coffee mug place a dollop of Nutella along with some cream, enough to make a paste. Pour your coffee in the mug and stir thoroughly.

Top brownies with Nutella spread. You can also add a little of the spread to the brownie batter along with some rum to give the brownies extra flavor. After spreading the Nutella on top of the brownies, put some almonds or cashews on top.

Use Nutella spread for hot fudge sauce. In a small saucepan combine about a cup of Nutella spread, a pinch of cinnamon, a half cup of heavy cream and a cup of dark brown sugar. Cook over medium heat for about 15 minutes or until the sauce thickens.

Make ice cream sandwiches with Nutella and chocolate cookies. Spread Nutella on the desired number of cookies, then top each with a scoop of ice cream. Place another cookie atop each of the ice cream scoops and freeze the sandwiches for 30 to 45 minutes.
