When dark circles become the focus on your face, banish them with a home remedy rather than pricey products from the cosmetic counter. Two ingredients — fenugreek and milk — are all you need. The lactic acid in milk helps to reduce inflammation, while fenugreek — an aromatic herb that has long been used in Chinese and Indian medicine — is high in potassium, vitamin C and protein to help lighten the dark spots.
Things You'll Need
Place 1 teaspoon of fenugreek seeds in a shallow bowl. Add enough water to cover the seeds. Let the seeds soak for 3 hours.
Pour the seeds and water through a strainer. Place the seeds in a food processor blender to grind them into a paste.
Put the paste into a bowl. Add ½ teaspoon of milk. Use raw milk if you can because it is minimally processed and contains the most lactic acid, but regular milk can also be used. Stir the fenugreek paste and milk with a spoon.
Smooth the mixture onto the dark circles under your eyes, avoiding the eye itself. Leave it on for 15 minutes, then rinse well with a cool washcloth. Pat your skin dry with a soft hand towel.
Boost the effects of this treatment by adding a pinch of turmeric to the mixture. Turmeric has antioxidants that help to promote clear, healthy skin.
