Hennes & Mauritz, commonly called and marketed as “H&M,” is known among 20-somethings for its popular and inexpensive fashions for women and men. However, as of August 2010, its clothing is only available for purchase in brick-and-mortar stores in North America.
If you’re scratching your head wondering why H&M doesn’t sell its clothing online, you’re probably not alone. Via its “Frequently Asked Questions” section, the Swedish clothier apologizes for the inconvenience and explains only that it “is not set up for mail order, phone orders or e-commerce at the present time.” However, H&M’s website does feature a photo gallery of styles that are currently in stores.
H&M does sell its fashions online for a select group of European countries, including Austria, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Holland, Norway and Sweden.
While you may not find every item in every size and color, H&M items are easily found online within auction and secondhand retail websites. For example, H&M clothing can be purchased on websites like eCRATER and eBid, as found in the Resources section.
