Very short hair offers fewer styling options than medium-to-long hair. That having been said, there is still a lot that can be done with short locks. You can use rollers for ringlets, but you can roll your hair with relative ease to achieve a more sophisticated, suave look using minimal equipment and time.

Things You'll Need

Comb or brush out your hair with a slightly damp brush so there are no knots. Smooth, knot-free hair is substantially easier to style then a messy nest of hair.

Section your hair into three main sections–the top and the two sides. Separate each section using hair clips. Divide each large section into smaller sections, working from the front of your head to the back. Separate each small section with a hair clip.

Remove a clip from one of the “mini sections” of hair. Place a medium-sized hot roller at the top of the hair and pinch the hair to the roller. The roller should be placed in the front of the hair, toward your face, not toward the back of your head.

Roll down the hair until you’ve reached the base. The roller should be directly on your head. Fasten the roller with a hair clip. Repeat the process for the rest of the sections of hair. Leave the rollers in your hair for approximately fifteen minutes, then remove them and brush out your hair.
