Everyone’s skin is covered in thousands of pores, also known as hair follicles. Large pores are especially noticeable on the face and can be considered unattractive. Pores can enlarge when acne is squeezed, causing the pores to stretch. Excessive sebum production can also cause the pores to stretch to allow the sebum to be released onto the face. While you can’t reduce the number of pores on your face, you can reduce the size of them and make them less noticeable using a few home remedies.

Combine salt and buttermilk, and apply a layer of the mixture to your face. These ingredients contain toning agents and can help reduce the size of your pores. Rinse the mixture off with warm water.

Apply tomato juice to your face. Leave the liquid on your face for 20 minutes then rinse with warm water. Use this method daily for best results.

Apply honey to your face. This can be mixed with sugar and lemon juice for additional tightening properties. Remove the mixture with facial wash and warm water.

Apply a thin layer of a store-bought toner to your face regularly. These can be picked up at any department store.

Apply something cold to your face to cause the skin to contract and reduce the size of your pores. You can use ice or even a cold rag.

  • There’s no way to permanently reduce the size of your pores. All of these methods will be temporary and should be repeated regularly.
