Topical caffeine has been shown to reduce the appearance of cellulite, sometimes quite significantly. Instead of spending more than $100 on the new caffeine creams or having to take the time for long treatments, make your own version that you can use twice a week right in the shower… one that also improves the skin and tone of your arms and legs in other ways. This eHow article shows how to make a strong coffee scrub treatment that you whip up with inexpensive kitchen ingredients. The caffeine reduces the appearance of cellulite, the rosemary essential oil makes cellulite appear less and makes arms and legs look more toned with better skin circulation, the sugar is an exfoliant that improves skin appearance and can help minimize the look of cellulite, and the olive oil is a wonderful emollient for the skin.
Things You'll Need
Obtain either your own used caffeinated coffee grounds, freshly ground caffeinated coffee beans (this makes a stronger treatment) or instant caffeinated coffee (if you don’t make your own caffeinated coffee at home).
Mix 12 drops of rosemary essential oil into three tablespoons of virgin olive oil.
Mix 1 part sugar (brown or white, your choice) with 3 parts coffee.
Then blend the rosemary infused olive oil with the coffee and sugar mixture to make a paste. Store in the refrigerator until use.
Twice a week, briskly rub your coffee cellulite treatment scrub onto troubled areas, wait for three minutes, then rinse off.
Secure cheese cloth, a coffee filter, or a smaller screen over your shower drain if you’re concerned about coffee grounds going down the drain.
