Meat and potatoes. That gets a bit boring after a while. But meat and potatoes don’t have to be pedestrian. Making seasoned baked red potatoes can help to spice up your dinners.

Things You'll Need

Use the amount of potatoes that your family would normally eat. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Line a cookie sheet with foil. If you were able to find baby red potatoes, cut them in half and line them up on the cookie sheet cut-side up. If you can only find the larger red potatoes, those will work just fine. Just cut them into quarters. Line them up on the cookie sheet skin side down.

Drizzle oil over the top of the potatoes. You do not need much per potato piece-just enough to help the spices stick to the potatoes. You do not need to measure the spices for this recipe. This is a recipe where you can put spices on to taste.

Sprinkle the garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper and cajun mix over the top of the potatoes, liberally. Bake on 350 degrees until fork tender. Serve with beef, pork, chicken or fish. The spice combination complements any meat.

  • Cooking times will vary depending on the size of the potatoes. You will want to start checking for tenderness after one half hour. Bigger potatoes may take up to an hour. You can make these potatoes on the grill. Just form a pan out of foil and put your potatoes and use the middle grill for cooking.
