Sausage and peppers constitute an Italian classic. Serve them on a sub roll, over pasta, topped with cheese or a la carte. Substitute turkey sausage for a healthier option.

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add crushed garlic and sausage. Cook the sausage for about eight to 10 minutes on each side. You want the sausage to be a dark brown on the outside.

After the sausage in browned, place in a baking dish.

To the same skillet you used for browning the sausage, add tomatoes, onion, peppers, crushed red pepper, white wine, salt and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes, stir everything together.

Turn heat off and transfer the mixture to the baking pan with the sausage. Bake in oven for about an hour and 30 minutes on 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Serve hot.
