Many people have diets that call for no sugar. Diabetic diets are hard to follow because sweet items taste good. Jams and jellies for toast or English muffins are not allowed because of the sugar content. However, if you make a jam or jelly that had no sugar, you could eat as much as you wanted. Making homemade jam and jelly with real fruit and no sugar is a simple task.

Things You'll Need

Mix the fresh berries and water in the pot.

Bring the fruit to a boil and cook for five minutes.

Smash the berries with a spoon. Turn off heat.

Mix in the gelatin. Add a little less than 2 teaspoons for the blueberries and a full packet for the strawberries.

Spoon mixture into jars. When cooled place them in the refrigerator for use.

Tips

  • Use fruit that has lower natural sugar than strawberries for more sugar-free jelly.
