Many individuals desire longer eyelashes or eyelashes that look darker or thicker. Many prescription and over-the-counter products claim to cause eyelashes to grow and thicken. These products may be effective but also carry potential side effects, including possibly permanently changing the individual’s eye color. However, there are a few ways to attempt to thicken eyelashes at home using ordinary ingredients that carry little risk.
Things You'll Need
Evaluate your overall nutrition. A poor diet may cause eyelashes to be thin or even fall out. Take a daily multivitamin formula to increase your vitamins and minerals. This may also help your hair and eyelashes to thicken and grow.
Dip a clean cotton swab into olive oil and gently swab on to the eyelashes twice a day.
Use a clean cotton swab into petroleum jelly and gently swab on to the eyelashes twice a day.
Try dipping a clean cotton swab into castor oil and gently swabbing on the eyelashes twice a day.
Wipe away any excess oil or petroleum jelly after application. Continue applying the material of your choice daily for at least a month.
Do not wear mascara over any other product, as it will only smear both the mascara and the product you are using to lengthen your eyelashes.
