Pizza for dessert? Why not! Dessert pizzas come in nearly as many varieties as regular pizza. In this version, with flavors reminiscent of apple of crisp, the pizza crust lends itself well to a classic apples and cinnamon pairing. The streusel topping adds just the right amount of sweetness. While you can make and bake your own pizza dough, make this dessert even easier by using a store bought pre-baked crust.
Things You'll Need
Unwrap the pre-baked pizza crust from the plastic and place it on pizza baking pan. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
In a large bowl, combine the finely chopped apples with the sugar and cinnamon. Stir to mix well.
Spread the 2 tablespoons of melted butter over the pizza crust, and then spread the apple mixture evenly on top.
Mix the streusel topping in medium sized bowl. Combine the flour, quick oats, 4 tablespoons of softened butter, brown sugar and walnuts, stirring until the mixture becomes crumb-like.
Sprinkle the streusel on top of the apple mixture on the pizza crust. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes, or until lightly toasted.
Remove the dessert pizza from the oven and let it stand for 10 minutes before serving. Cut the pizza into regular pizza slices with a buttered pizza cutter. Serves 8.
