The fear of skin cancer is making indoor self-tanning a popular choice for giving skin a tanned look without exposing it to the sun’s harmful rays. Indoor tanning products are often sold as over-the-counter creams, lotions or sprays that you apply to your skin. However, you can make an indoor tanning lotion at home, using products that can be purchased at the grocery store and pharmacy.
Things You'll Need
Boil 3/4 cup of water. Add three bags of black tea and brew a very strong tea.
Pour 1/4 cup of lanolin, 1/4 cup of sesame seed oil and 1/4 cup of the tea into a blender.
Blend the mixture at a very low speed. Add the remaining tea intermittently, while blending.
Apply lotion evenly to your skin. Wash your hands after applying the lotion, to avoid palm discoloration.
Purchase lanolin at your local pharmacy.
Use on a hidden skin area first, to test results.
