Green smoothies can be made with any of your favorite uncooked fruits and vegetables. Raw food smoothie recipes consist of any leafy green vegetables, such as spinach or kale, fruit, such as apple, pear or berries, and an emulsifying fruit or vegetable to make the drink creamy, such as banana, avocado or mango. You can also use the emulsifying fruit as your fruit ingredient if you don’t want to use all three. To get the most nutritional value out of drinking green raw food smoothies, eat a different blend of fruits and vegetables each day.

Peel the mango, then cut it into cubes on the cutting board. Place the mango cubes in the blender.

Wash the kale under running water, then place it on the cutting board. Cut off the stem, cut the rest of the kale into 1 to 2 inch pieces and then put those pieces in the blender.

Pour 1 cup of water in the blender. Start the blender on high and blend the contents until they are smooth. Serve the smoothie immediately.


  • Ginger and vanilla can also be added for extra flavor in the smoothie.
