A provocative cocktail that packs a fruity punch, Sex on the Beach contains vodka, peach schnapps and a mix of fruit juices. Recipes vary, but this version adapted from Liquor.com’s Sex on the Beach recipe includes mango juice to add a tropical flair and Amaretto to add a subtle nuttiness. Don’t let the flavor fool you; drink one too many and your inhibitions will float away.
- 1 1/2 ounces vodka
- 1/2 ounce peach Schnapps
- 1/2 ounce Amaretto
- 1 ounce orange juice
- 1 ounce mango juice
- 1 ounce cranberry juice
- Maraschino cherries
Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker half-filled with ice. Shake vigorously for 10 to 15 seconds, until well chilled. Add a handful of fresh ice to a cocktail glass and strain the drink into the glass. Pierce a maraschino cherry or two with a decorative toothpick umbrella and rest on the inside of the glass.
- Pineapple juice makes a great addition to the cocktail, or can serve as a substitution for either the orange or mango juice.
- Up the tropical flavor ante and swap out the vodka for coconut rum.
- Make it spicy by replacing the vodka with cinnamon whisky.
- If you don’t have Amaretto on hand, leave it out.
