The name mai tai is derived from a Tahitian word for “good,” which is how most of the drinks turn out. Like most mai tai drinks, the mango version features multiple ingredients and has a reputation as an ideal pool side drink.
Things You'll Need
Combine the ingredients in a glass.
Pour the contents into the cocktail shaker and shake vigorously.
Strain the drink into a glass filled with ice. Garnish the glass with the pineapple slice and a cocktail umbrella.
For the non-alcoholic version, substitute orgeat syrup or almond flavoring for the amaretto, orange juice for the orange curacao, and 1 tsp. of rum flavoring and 1 shot of mango nectar for the mango flavored rum.
Substituting orgeat syrup for the amaretto will increase the sweetness of the drink.
