A bruise is a common, minor injury where small blood vessels break just below the skin and blood collects in the surrounding soft tissues. Most bruises resolve themselves within a few weeks, but topical use of herbal Arnica may help relieve pain, discomfort and to fade dark bruises faster.
Things You'll Need
Wash your hands and the bruised area gently with soap and water. Dry hands.
Pat the bruised area dry with the washcloth. Do not rub.
Apply a thin layer of the Arnica cream or ointment over the bruised area.
Cover the area, if desired, with clean gauze.
Rewash the area and reapply the Arnica cream/ointment 3 to 4 times per day, or as directed by the manufacturer.
