A distinctive rich blue and gold Crown Royal bag swimsuit is sure to make a fashion-statement impression at the beach, pool or dress-up party. Making your own swimsuit from the bags also means that you don’t have to worry about other people having the same outfit. No matter is you want a one-piece, a bikini or boxer shorts, there are a few simple steps to follow to make your unique swimsuit creation.

Things You'll Need

Pick your pattern. Go to your local fabric shop and check the patterns that are available there. Make sure you check the size and get the one that is right for you.

Lay your Crown Royal bags on a flat surface, such as a table. Carefully cut down the two sides of each bag; be sure to keep the Crown Royal emblem centered. Cut as many bags as you will need for the swimsuit. Cut the gold tassel drawstring and set it to one side.

Pin the pieces together — keep the emblems on the inside — and carefully sew them together. You can either do it on a sewing machine or by hand. You finish with a single piece of Crown Royal fabric.

Position the pattern pieces so that the Crown Royal emblems are prominently displayed. If you are making a bikini, for instance, you may want the emblem to be the center of each of the two top pieces.

Secure the pattern to the fabric with pins and then carefully cut the material. Be sure to leave a 1/2-inch seam allowance. Stitch the pieces together, either by hand or on a sewing machine.

Retrieve the gold tassel. If you are making a one-piece swimsuit, use the tassel for the shoulder straps; for a bikini use it as the neck and back strings. For a man’s swimsuit, use it as a drawstring.

Sew elastic around the leg and armholes. Line the crotch of the swimsuit with fabric. Try on your Crown Royal swimsuit and adjust if necessary.
