Things You'll Need
Add 1/4 cup rum and 2 tbsp. orange curacao to a tall drinking glass. Stir well to combine, using a drink stirrer or teaspoon. Light or dark rum may be used, depending on preference.
Cut a fresh lime in half and squeeze the juice into a small measuring cup. Add 2 tbsp. of the fresh lime juice to the rum mixture. Stir to combine.
Add 1 tsp. granulated sugar to the glass. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved in the rum and lime mixture.
Add 1/4 cup club soda to the glass. Fill the glass the rest of the way with ice cubes and stir to combine, using the stirrer or spoon. Make sure to thoroughly incorporate all ingredients for the best taste.
Place an orange wedge on the side of the glass for a garnish, and plop a cherry inside the drink if desired. Serve immediately.
You may use bottled lime juice.
Other garnish options for the Barbados Breeze include lime wedges, lime zest, orange zest and/or drink umbrellas. You may also try lining the rim of the glass with sugar for a sweeter taste.
