Chocolate covered strawberries are a culinary treat most often enjoyed during the summer when strawberries are in their peak growing season. The shelf life of strawberries is compromised when they are dipped in chocolate, but you can extend it by keeping them stored in a refrigerated airtight container. While they can be stored for up to two days, enjoy yours within 24 hours for the best flavor.
Things You'll Need
Line the bottom of an airtight container with parchment paper. Place a layer of strawberries in the container, making sure that they are not touching each other.
Place another layer of parchment paper on top of the strawberries you placed in the container in Step 1, and continue layering them, making sure to place a layer of parchment paper between each level.
Seal the lid of the container and place it in a refrigerator.
You can increase the shelf life of your chocolate covered strawberries by freezing them. Do not allow frozen strawberries to thaw before consuming them, as doing so will make them soggy.
Chocolate covered strawberries stored at room temperature should be consumed within 12 hours.
Do not substitute plastic wrap or aluminum foil in place of parchment paper. Both of these will damage the surface of your chocolate covered strawberries.
