Many women spend countless hours and plenty of money at salons and lots of time styling to get their hairdo just right. After coloring, drying, straightening or curling, that hair is probably in great need of some tender loving care. You could go back to the salon and spend quite a bit of money on a hair mask or deep conditioner, or you can give yourself a conditioning treatment at home. You may even have all of the ingredients in your refrigerator or pantry.

Things You'll Need

Give yourself a time-tested deep conditioning treatment using real mayonnaise. Comb 1 cup of mayo through your dampened hair and then wrap your hair up in a towel. Let it sit about 20 minutes and shampoo it out.

Whip up a tropical treatment using avocado and coconut milk. Peel and mash the avocado and then blend in coconut milk until it is about the consistency of a regular shampoo. Comb the mixture through your hair. Let it sit 15 to 20 minutes before washing it out. The coconut milk works with the avocado to add both shine and body to your hair, and it smells good, too. If you don’t have coconut milk, just use the mashed avocado.

Keep it simple with honey and lemon. Combine 2/3 cup olive oil with 1/3 cup honey and the juice of one lemon. Dampen your hair and work in the conditioner. Cover with a shower cap or wrap your hair in a towel. Let it sit about 30 minutes before shampooing out.
