Fage is a brand of Greek yogurt that was started by the Filippou family in Greece. This yogurt is very thick and creamy. As the company grew, they were able to offer their yogurt worldwide. Since all types of yogurt contain active bacteria, you may not be sure as to whether you can freeze it. Fortunately, you can freeze Fage yogurt. The bacteria become dormant in freezing temperatures, but according to the National Health Institute, they come back to life once thawed out.

Things You'll Need

Place your unopened container of Fage yogurt in the freezer. If the container has not been opened, the yogurt is safe to freeze as is.

Transfer your opened container of Fage yogurt in to a freezer proof container. If you purchased a large container of yogurt, you won’t be able to eat it all in one sitting. You can free leftovers in a container meant for use in low temperatures.

Remove the yogurt from the freezer when you are ready to eat it. You can eat it frozen, or you can let it thaw and eat it as you normally would.
