Combat the damage of chemical treatments, coloring, heat styling and environmental pollution by deep-conditioning your hair on a regular basis. This will help replenish lost moisture and keep locks shiny and resilient.
Assess your hair’s needs and the time you have available. Different formulas offer different levels of conditioning, and treatment time can range from 2 to 60 minutes.
Select a formula that best suits you, then consult your stylist to insure that the conditioner you’ve chosen will not interfere with your color treatment.
Shampoo your hair. Towel dry, absorbing all excess moisture.
Place a quarter-size amount of conditioner in the palm of your hand. Use more conditioner for longer hair.
Rub hands together gently to distribute conditioner.
Begin at the hairline and apply conditioner from forehead to ends. Comb through hair for even distribution, applying a little extra to the ends of long tresses.
Massage scalp and relax for the time indicated.
Rinse thoroughly and style as usual.
For a quick deep-conditioning in the shower, gently squeeze any excess water from your hair and distribute the conditioner evenly throughout your hair. Shave your legs or suds your body to give the conditioner time to work.
For a spa-like experience, light a candle and draw a bath prior to the application of conditioner. Clip your hair up or tuck it under a shower cap and relax in the tub for 20 minutes.
