If you’ve longed for more lift and height in your bangs, you’re not alone. According to Schwarzkopf.com, 48 percent of women want their hair to have more volume. Fortunately, you don’t have to be cursed with flat bangs. Products made specifically for creating volume in thin, fine hair are lifesavers when it comes to boosting the height of bangs. With the right products and styling technique, you can get hair worthy of an ’80s rock star.
Things You'll Need
Wash your hair with volumizing shampoo and conditioner and towel dry. When your hair is damp but not wet, work a fingertip full of volumizing mousse into the roots of your bangs.
Dry your bangs in the opposite direction of how you normally part them using a blow dryer set to medium heat. You will not keep them parted in this direction, but when you brush them back in the direction they normally go, they’ll have more lift. Hold the hair sideways with a large round brush or paddle brush, and dry in straight strokes from the roots to the tips. After drying, hold the brush in your bangs until your hair cools. If you normally part your hair in the middle, part it on the side to dry your bangs.
Spritz hairspray onto your hands and run your fingers through your bangs. Hold the hair up until the hairspray dries. Place the bangs in the direction that you normally part them.
Tease your bangs with the brush you used to dry your hair. Hold your bangs up and brush downward from tips to roots.
Style your teased bangs with your fingers instead of brushing them. This preserves the volume you created by backcombing.
