For the most part, pores should be completely unnoticeable. When a person has problematic skin, though, it causes pores to become enlarged. Open pores on the legs, arms, and face are usually the result of oil clogs or infection. To minimize pores, they must be closed by using a few skin care methods.

Fill a pot with water, and bring it to a boil on the stove.

Turn off the stove, and wait a few minutes for the water to cool.

Drape a towel over the back of your head, and lean your face over the steam. Steam your face for 15 minutes. This will help clean out pores so they can be closed.

Use an exfoliating scrub on your face, legs, and arms when you're in the shower.

Soak a cotton ball with astringent, and rub it over your legs, arms, and face after you have finished exfoliating.

Apply a clay mask to your problem areas once a week. It will soak up excess oil that can clog pores.

Steam can burn you. Before you hold your face over the hot water, wait until it has slightly cooled.
