The pores on your face can become clogged with dirt, oil and bacteria. Clogged pores lead to blackheads and pimples. To avoid problem skin, pores should be completely cleaned out. Instead of seeking out expensive skin treatments or facials, you can effectively clean the pores on your face at home. A steam treatment is easy to perform, and it loosens the dirt and bacteria on your skin so it can easily be rinsed off.

Things You'll Need

Fill a pot with water.

Place the pot on a stove and turn it to high heat.

Add a handful of herbs such as rosemary, lavender or peppermint.

Once the water starts boiling, turn off the heat.

Let the water cool down for a few minutes so you don’t burn your skin.

Drape a towel over your head, and then position your face over the steam.

Steam your face for about 15 minutes.

Rinse off your face with lukewarm water.

Repeat this steam treatment twice a week.

Apply tea tree oil or apple-cider vinegar to a cotton ball.

Sweep the wet cotton ball over your nose and other areas of your face affected by clogged pores.

Repeat this treatment every day.
