Coconut oil is known worldwide for its many medicinal uses. For many countries, coconut is a staple food. The oil from the coconut is also used as a beauty aid in shampoos and can be used topically to “prevent wrinkles, sagging skin and age spots,” according to the Coconut Research Center.
Perform a skin test to make sure you don’t have an allergic reaction to coconut oil. Place a small amount where your jaw line meets your neck. If no adverse reaction occurs after 30 minutes, continue with coconut oil application.
Wash your face. Try to use a gentle cleaner that doesn’t contain abrasive agents.
Rinse your face with lukewarm water several times until all soap is removed. Pat your face dry.
Dip your pinky finger into a small amount of coconut oil and rub between your pinky and thumb to warm the coconut oil.
Blot the coconut oil with your pinky finger under your right eye working from the outer corner of your eye towards the inner corner near your nose. Be careful not to get any in your eye. Repeat for the left eye.
